MOT Testing

MOT testing confirms that at the time of the test, the vehicle met the minimum acceptable environmental and road safety standards required by law.
Everyone who uses a vehicle on the road must keep it in a roadworthy condition – leading to a requirement by law for vehicles that are three years or older to have an annual MOT test. Passing this test does not mean your car will remain roadworthy for the duration of a year, and you must also regularly check items yourself in between tests to ensure your vehicle is safe to use on the road.
The MOT test certificate only verifies the condition of testable items such as brakes, lights, windscreen, tyres and seatbelts – it does NOT cover items such as the engine, gearbox, clutch or suspension, so we also suggest regular servicing of the vehicle by a qualified mechanic will ensure your vehicle is in the best possible condition.
Upon completion, all MOT test results are entered on to a secure central database. You will be given an MOT pass certificate or notification of failure with a list of required action.
Should your vehicle fail its MOT test and require further work, we will be able to talk you through your options. You are then free to make a decision regarding the right course of action for you and your car, and are not tied to using our services for any potentially required repairs.
